I had the most incredible day photographing Jack and Emily's intimate wedding at the Totnes Guildhall and The Bull Inn in Devon. Seriously, it was so special!
I arrived late morning to photograph Emily getting ready with her girls. Bridal prep is always my favourite time of the day but this was especialy wholesome. Her best friend did her makeup while her bridesmaids all sat round the dining table getting ready. The owners of Bull Inn also own accommodation, The Albatross Apartment, which was conveniently across the street from the restaurant and created such a beautiful backdrop for the start of the day. After Emily slipped into her shoes from Sezane and dress from La Boutique, she revealed her final look to her bridesmaids and let's just say the reactions did not disappoint.
As Emily had some final moments with her girls, I strolled through the idyllic town of Totnes, Devon, over to the ceremony location. The quaint Totnes Guildhall boasts nearly a thousand years of history, dating back to 1088. Today, it stands as the Council Chambers for Totnes Town Council, offering a unique and storied setting for J & E's wedding ceremony. Here I met Jack and his groomsmen, doing my best to help calm the nerves and introducing myself to the guests as they steadily arrived. The groom wore a suit from Percival Menswear paired with shoes from COS. The love these two have for each other is completely undeniable and the love from all their family was absolutely beautiful to see- not a dry eye in sight!
As the guests left the Guildhall, the groomsmen handed out confetti and got everyone lined up ready to celebrate Em + Jack with a beautiful confetti throw followed by some lovely guest interactions. We took 5 minutes to get some couple shots in front of the Guildhall before walking over to the restaurant.
Once at The Bull Inn, the guests mingled and the chefs cooked up a storm. Jack and Emily are restaurant owners themselves at Portral Pizza and big foodies- this was evident by the three-course meal! The speeches were so heart warming and hilarious- I love a good speech!
Before heading off, I took some group shots, using the Bull Inn's pink walls (love!) as a backdrop.
Emily and Jack's day was an incredible day filled with love, laughter, and beautiful memories. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to capture it. They are a pair of massive legends!
If you're looking for someone to capture your day- I'd love to be considered. Find out more about my work here.
All my love, Isobel xox
